Suffering

My heart is deeply burdened today with the question of “why do we suffer and struggle in silence”? We cry alone, we think that no one cares for us or will understand, we struggle with loneliness, we answer with “fine” or “good” when asked how we are, we put on a good face in the presence of our friends and family but in reality we are suffering, in pain and hurting. We need to be face down on the floor in prayer when we are suffering in silence. We need to be crying out to our Lord for help, strength and courage. We need to reach out to those in our lives who we know love us and care for us. Our friends and family have been put in our lives for a reason and we need to run to them when we are struggling. A friend is the one whose shoulder can be used to cry on, a listening ear that will listen without judgment, a heart that aches for us when we are in pain, and someone who will rejoice and cry with us in the good and painful times. We let our pride stand in our way of asking for help, we fear being judged if we share our feelings, we are worried about having our heart-broken if we allow ourselves to love and to be loved, we are afraid that no one will understand what we are going through, we think we can handle things alone..why do we think like this? Why do we try to remain in control of our lives when we are actually spinning out of control because we are handling things on our own? If you are struggling with pain and hurt today, it is okay to cry. It is important to cry out to God for strength. It is important to ask a friend or family member to listen. God is with you all the time and He NEVER leaves your side. He is your constant companion who wants you to talk to Him all the time. Pick up His word and begin reading. Your friends are also there for you and a true friend is one who will answer the phone at 9am or 3am and listen to you and cry with you. If you heart is burdened today, please don’t suffer and hurt in silence. You can’t handle it alone no matter how hard you try. God is waiting and so am I-your friend!

“A friend is one who STRENGTHENS you with prayers, BLESSES you with love, and ENCOURAGES you with hope.”

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith-that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
